It was an unfortunate morning for 173 people (including crew members)which were traveling on B737-800 aircraft on Air India Express Flight number IX-812 from Dubai to Mangalore. The aircraft crashed at the time of landing around 6:30 am today morning.
20 fire tenders were immediately rushed to the site while the plane exploded and set into flames.
One of the 8 passengers who were fortunate enough to survive the crash said that the craft was into smoke and flames within seconds of landing announcement.
The rescue operations are still going on with the help of 150 CISF personnel and the 8 passengers have been rushed to the hospital.
Air India has formally announced the crash of its B737-800 aircraft on Air India Express Flight number IX-812 from Dubai to Mangalore and has expressed its condolence over the incident.
